Those who haven’t seen She’ All That are bound to enjoy this whole reverse reimaging. Of course, those who are constantly on social media and want to become or are influencers are also going to identify with this film which is a lot about teenage drama rather than a story for those wanting meaningful viewing. Still, it is interesting to see how the millennia thinks and behaves.
Addison Rae, who plays Padgett, the make-over girl in the film, is a singer and dancer. She is also a social media personality. It was her dancing videos that got her over 81 million followers on TikTok. Probably that is why this role comes so naturally to her. Her transformation of Tanner Buchanan who plays Cameron Kweller is pretty amazing but then we all know what make-over can do for all of us. This is no different for our hero. With a beanie off, hair cut, and t-shirt and jeans replaced by a black suit and a white shirt, the transformation of Buchanan is amazing even if all this is superficial.
Rachael Leigh Cook, who plays the mom and was in She’s All That (she plays Laney, the unpopular girl who gets a make-over) looks cute here. Her and Matthew Lillard who shows his moves at the climax, makes this one a one-time watch.
