The legend of michael mishra

Cast: Arshad Warsi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Boman Irani, Kayoze Irani

Rated: 4/10

He endeared himself as Circuit in the Munna Bhai series and as Madhav in Golmaal series. His antics in both the films made people laugh. Then he went on to do films like  Ishqiya and Jolly llB. It changed his image in the minds of viewers — that he was a versatile actor.

Then comes a movie like The legend of Michael Mishra (read Misra) and one wonders if the viewers’ perception was wrong. The shooting of the film had started in January 2014 and it took two whole years to be released. One thought that since it took such a long time to complete, it would be a film to watch out for.

It is definitely something that one should watch out for — in a negative connotation. The legend of Michael Mishra is supposed to take the viewers on the journey of a gangster who falls in love and decides to walk the righteous path because the lady love (Aditi Rao Hydari) in a love letter says — “sudhar jayen”.

But what the film takes you on is a journey that is boring and full of cliches. Take this for example: Our hero — Misra— goes to the temple, prays in front of lord Shiva that he won’t leave till Varsha (heroin’s name) comes. lo and behold, there is varsha (rain) and instantly our hero becomes swamiji. Ring any bellsIJ

Manish Jha’s movie, sadly, doesn’t go anywhere. The legend is nothing but an unimaginative joke that needs to be avoided at all cost to retain your sanity.
