Sasural Simar Ka on Colors recently celebrated 1,000 episodes spanning a little over three years amidst the glitzy nightlife in Hong Kong. The entire crew was shooting for a week-long duration at this location. “We are all very thrilled to be a part of this show which has managed to intrigue the audience and has kept them interested for all these years,” Dheeraj Dhoopar who plays Prem in the show, tells you.
He explains that after the entire Sunnaina ghost kaand and the impending divorce gloom, Prem and Simar separate for the time being. But how can you keep the love birds away for a long timeIJ “It so happens that Prem has to go on a business trip to Hong Kong where he meets Simar in a posh Hotel. She is the manager of this hotel and in that capacity she welcomes her guest with a bouquet of flowers. A lot of situations will arise where Prem will have to seek Simar’s help. That is when he realises that she was never in love with Vikrant. Will he bring her back to India and to his life, only time will tell,” Dhoopar says. The Hong Kong special episodes will go on air from October 13 from 7:30 pm.
For Dhoopar, playing Prem was an opportunity that was served in a platter. “I’ve always believed that character is more important than the actor. When I replaced Shoaib Ibrahim, who made Prem popular, the big challenge for me was to get accepted as the protagonist. My sole aim was to play my role according to my capabilities and give it a personal touch to it. I’m glad that as Prem, I’ve managed to make some space in people’s hearts,” Dhoopar says.
