What are the challenges on hosting an issue-based show like Halla Bol 2IJ
Honestly, hosting any show is challenging. The key is to be able to connect with the audience and that comes only when you are closely associated or feel for a particular subject. For me, hosting this show comes naturally, since I feel strongly about women empowerment.
Why should people this season of the showIJ
The show is all about empowerment of women. Never underestimate what a woman can do, this season it’s about women defying conventions – kyunki ladkiya kam nahi! The concept is fresh, new and inspiring. Moreover, the stories are courageous, something that the viewers can look forward to.
It will tell some amazing stories of women who have stood their ground and made a mark in a male dominated world. It’s a step towards making people aware of the prejudices that exist in the society. It takes the tagline of the channel — the enabler of purposive action — a step further.
How has life changed post Jhalak Dikhhla JaaIJ
Doing the dance reality show was a different experience altogether. PostJhalak..., I’ve received even more love and support from my fans and family. Now with Halla Bol Season 2, I want to inspire people that they need to make a difference in the society.
You have been missing from the daily soap space. What are you doing these daysIJ
I’d love to work on projects that are closer to my heart. I need to believe in them before I sign on. But I don’t plan in advance with these things. It’s about what excites you as an actor at that point of time that matters to me. Halla Bol as a concept is very close to my heart. Therefore there was no doubt about taking this project up.
What kind of shows do you like to watchIJ
There are some very nice shows on air these days that are very informative. I like watching shows that educate me and are able to add to my knowledge. I would particularly like to mention Satyamev Jayate. It talked about empowerment in general. I also watch informative shows that are shown on Discovery.
