Dus Ka Dum is back to entertain. With Salman Khan at the helm, it makes things interesting and keeping the audience on edge, says Gurbani Singh
With rolu golu (answering metre), masaledaar questions and India’s very own Bhai — Salman Khan — Dus Ka Dum is back after nine years, adding more dum along with the lots of glitz and glamour. The contest is going to be pacy and full of interesting nuances. Sallu Bhai, who believes in being his true self on TV will give you a sneak peek of what to expect in the next episode.
What can the viewers expect from this showIJ Other than Bhai’s one of a kind sense of humour and constant goofiness, it’s the questions he will ask that will make the show different. “The questions will focus on people’s behaviour, habits and what’s going on in the society The questions lay emphasis on the diversity in the nation too,. The answers to these questions can’t be found in any textbook but from your experiences and your observations.” says Danish Khan, EVP and Business Head Sony Entertainment Television.
Produced by Big Synergy, this new season of Dus Ka Dum boasts of an all new format that is re-designed and developed by the in-house creative team of Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Pictures Television, UK. With its TV + Digital approach, the show promises to deepen engagement with the viewers.
The format is simple. The first round will see two participants compete through 5 Ka Punch which is a knockout round. The player, who answers at least three questions correctly out of five, moves to the next round while the other contestant gets knocked out.
Each question in this round is worth `20,000 and the contestants will get 15 seconds to lock the estimated percentage on their respective screens. The madat (assist) available in this round will be the Strategic Timeout where the contestant can consult their families to arrive at an answer.
The second round is called 10 Guna Dum where the participant stands a chance to multiply their earnings from round one to do guna, chaar guna, cheh guna, aath guna and dus guna.
The contestant must play all the five questions from which a minimum of three right answers will take them to the final round which is titled Super Sawaal.
The correct answer gives the contestant 10 times the amount that they earned in the second round. But, there’s a catch to it, the wrong answer can leave the contestant with only 10% of the amount that they won in the second round.
However, the contestant can choose to quit and claim the money won till this stage.
But its not just the money that the contestants will walk away with. The questions and their answers will send across a message, as they have an educational connotation. It will be the presentation that will make the show worth a watch and give the audience a stomach from all the laughter. For instance, Sallu Bhai’s favourite question— What percentage of indians, wear torn underwearIJ
Given that this show will be aired every Monday and Tuesday, one’s weekend is going to spill over, making it a four-day holiday. So tune in to Sony on June 6 at 8:30 pm.
