Singer and composer ANURAG HALDER, who rose to fame after releasing Kashtiya is all set to launch his new Rabindra Sangeet
Hailing from a small town, music composer and singer gained fame after the release of Kashtiya. After releasing a few hit albums, Halder is all set to rock with his upcoming Rabindra Sangeet.
When composing for an independent project, the music director believes there should be ample freedom to make the track without any sort of interruptions so that the efforts are not gone in vain and hard work pays off. In recent times, he has collaborated with the MTV Hustle Grand Finalist, EPR Iyer in a project, and connected Hip Hop with Indie Pop music which received great response from the audience. The singer has a long list of projects releasing in the next few months, per sources.
Rabindra Sangeet is known as one of the best genres of music in India and across the world. It was originally composed and written by the great Rabindranath Tagore who was best known as a poet and the first non- European writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize for literature. Tagore composed and wrote the national anthems for both India and Bangladesh. He reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art. The Bengali people have emotions attached to this type of sangeet.
Halder has always learnt Hindustani classical music since childhood. Having been brought up in West Bengal, he loves Rabindra Sangeet and has practiced immensely along the way. In the city of Kolkata, which is known for its culture, art, and love for music, at least one member in every house is associated with some form of art. Be it music, painting, dancing etc.
Rabindra Sangeet is considered to be a big chapter of music and it comes with a huge responsibility for a singer in India. Since Halder used to practice it at school, the musical director believes it is essential to understand this form of sangeet in order to connect well with the audience.
Vinit Jain, the founder of Voila! Digi (One of the music labels in India) connected with Halder recently and offered a contract of around twenty Rabindra Sangeet songs which was accepted by the singer. After signing the contract, five songs have been sung and released already. Two of which are Ekla cholo re and Anondoloke. Reportedly, a few more songs are on the way, and it has been a success for the singer and Voila! Digi so far as the audiences have appreciated the work.
Some other Bengali projects Halder has worked in — Cholo Jaai, Icche Kore, Tui Elina, Ghum Pahara, Aloron, Pari Debo Na, Tumio Mano Na, Chole Geleo and many more which has separate Bengali fan following.
