In the web world, there are plenty of shows that tell the stories of solid, complicated, diverse women who are strong in a myriad of ways. Fighting all odds of stereotyping male dominated characters, there have been instances in the web world particularly where women characters have been portrayed in the new light and have turned to be beautifully multifaceted. From Sushmita Sen in Disney+ Hotstar's Aarya to Aahana Kumra in Voot Select's Marzi to Dia Mirza in Zee 5's Kaafir have reminded us to stand up for what we want, fight our foes fiercely. Some of them build a successful career, others find their love and calling, and some discover some unexpected talent. But all of them teach millions of female viewers to be brave and confident in a rightful way.

Here are the 8-power packed and stellar performances by the brilliant women in the industry

Sushmita Sen (Disney+Hotstar's Aarya)

A loveable wife and doting mother of three, Sushmita Sen owns every scene, and deals with every emotion, be it disappointment, betrayal, love, anger, and frustration, with utmost finesse. Portraying the qualities and characteristics of the modern woman, Aarya showcases strength, grace, and vulnerability without compromising on either.

Dia Mirza (Zee5's Kaafir)

Dia essays a young Pakistani mother who comes to India under a strange series of circumstances and is unable to go back home. Portraying the pleasant, sensible victim of border politics, Dia Mirza playing Kainaaz shines bright in the narrative, that too in a manner that evokes empathy rather than pity.

Aahana Kumra (Voot Select's Marzi)

From dealing with love and guilt in relationships to trying to fight the patriarchal system, the series shows what a woman coming out and accusing a man of rape goes through.  Aahana steals the show with her performance where you see her crumble and feel her frustration and anger when she is not heard.

Shobita Dhulipala (Amazon Prime Video's Made in Heaven)

Shobita's character is an overused and banal trope of the cold-hearted gold digger who is as calculating as she is emotional. Tara is a confused mix of all these odd and conflicting personality traits, which makes hers one of the most complex, multi-faceted female characters

Neha Sharma (Voot Select's Illegal)

A new lawyer trying to make it in this cutthroat world, passionate about her work, great work ethic who is very outspoken. Neha steps out of her starry image as a no-nonsense lawyer and certainly delivers one of the best performances of her career.

Ashvini Bhave (Voot Select's The Raikar Case)

Plays the over-protective mother and wife, who transforms from being the meek matriarch to being the lady that stands like a rock with her family no matter what, to the venomous serpent who lurks underneath yet no one is aware of it.

Lara Dutta (Disney+Hotstar's Hundred)

A glamorous woman who turned heads and set hearts aflutter, and yet hardly ever a tough-as-nails cop staring down male subordinates, Lara Dutta defined powerful. What's more? Saumya Shukla portrayed by her flawed yet funny, strong yet scared character with a talent that only a few knew about.

Kirti Kulhari (Amazon Prime Video's Four More Shots Please)

Kirti has always handpicked roles of a stronger and independent woman. The actor plays the role of Anjana, a successful lawyer and a single mother, in the show. Outlining a strong female friendship as the narrative and the everyday struggles they overcome in their individual lives. It a call to the modern woman and her inner strength with compelling leads and story lines.
