Anant Dayal brings to life The Legend of Ila, a story in Song. The play tells the story of Ila who at different points of time lives either as a man or a woman. Being almost entirely performed in a song format revolves around the process of exploration of gender fluidity and queerness. It’s a revelation as well as a celebration of doubt, wonder and inclusiveness set against the larger cultural framework of Hindu traditions and norms.
