For those who are DC comic fans, they would know what happens when Batman and Superman meet plenty of buildings being destroyed with each hero trying to prove his mettle. But of course, there is a slight difference; Superman doesn’t want to hurt any human being. Batman is human.
For those who have never read a single DC comic and only watched movies, they would find all the back and forth that keeps happening and two stories running parallel a tad tedious. But that is not the only thing that annoys you about this epic clash of heroes.
There is too much mishmash and this means that it is a bit difficult to understand, more so, since the earlier movies with Superman give you a different picture that people love our flying hero. And that nothing can kill him. But here, there is a twist; since he is from a different planet he needs to be looked at with suspicion rather than as a hero who is mankind’s saviour.
Of course, fans of the comic books will say that it is high time that these kinds of movies were more and more based on the comics rather than fictionalise them and move away from what the writers originally wrote. But we are human and we need a hero a superman even though lois lane got a Pulitzer for writing Why We Don’t Need Superman.
Then there is our villain. lex luther. He is definitely mad as a hatter but after having seen Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey play the character, Jesse Eisenberg fails to impress you.
It is sad that despite two super heroes, this one is a film that is too messy in terms of storyline.
