Smurfs 2
Starring: Neil Patrick Harris, Brendan Gleeson, Jayma Mays
At:DT Cinemas
Rated: 4.5/10
It’s 3D and irritatingly so. This time not because the black shade sits heavily on your pert little nose, but because the 3D special effects are somewhat woozy, almost as if two frames have been put on each other by mistakes.
But then this is not the fault of the engaging Smurfs who try and weave the magic around you with the savviness of their original movie.
Though this time round, the story is not that gripping, despite the goldilocks Surfina being kidnapped by the big black wizard, the colour scheme and the fairytale element keeps you mildly interesting. Kids stuff.
