Pravesh Rana speaks about his journey as the host of Emotional Atyachaar for four years, the use of gadgets in the show and his take on relationship AIB roast
What is your take on freedom of speech, particularly related to AIBIJ
Personally I didn’t like it; humour doesn’t means using abusive language. But to ban it from a social platform is totally different. It’s an individual’s choice. I didn’t like it so didn’t see more after a few minutes. But it doesn’t mean that one should stop others from seeing it too. You can only give your opinion. But can’t snatch other’s freedom.
What kind of projects do you look forward toIJ
I like suspense, thriller and action movies. I also like love stories, but when it comes to action, I become a bit partial and can’t say no to them. The Raid is my favourite action movie, it’s an Indonesian picture. One has to see it to believe some of the action it has. It is awesome.
You are an actor-model turned host. What else would you like to doIJ
I have some interesting ideas for movies which I would love to produce, if I got a chance in future.
Did you ever feel cheated in a relationshipIJ
No, I haven’t been cheated nor did a loyalty test in a relationship. I think communication is needed, if there is any doubt then we should talk it out or there is no point of being with that person.
What else is keeping you busy these days other than Emotional AtyachaarIJ
Right now I am hosting a lot of events. I am also venturing into making documentaries. Regional documentaries with interesting concepts, I recently went to Northeast and worked on a documentary.
Tell us about your connect with Emotional AtyachaarIJ
This show has been my identity for the last four years. I am proud of it because it’s the longest running show on Bindaas. It’s more like family now, it doesn’t feel like work. It feels like I am doing something with people I like to work with, and the audience is also appreciating it.
Do people see you as a relationship expertIJ
Yes at times, I’m stopped on road. People call me in the middle of the night asking for advise. Sometimes I get calls from people who are drunk.
Tell us about the use of gadgets this seasonIJ
Our show has been there for so many years now, so people know how they can be caught if they do anything that is wrong. They try and avoid all those situations where they can be trapped. So we use tracking devices, pen cameras and various apps to find out the truth.
In a way you are spying. Can it not hurt a relationshipIJ
Spying is a strong term to use. But if there are certain things that are happening to you, one has the right to find out what the reality is. There is no point of having a doubt in one’s mind.
Would you like to give any advice to people in a relationshipIJ
Don’t miss out on things that you already have just because you want something more. Greed will destroy your relationship sooner or later. If you find someone who loves you stay with that person or you may end up regretting having given up on a relationship that was good for you.
