Krishan Kanhaiya have a date with Red Fort

Amidst the blazing heat of Delhi, Siddharth Arora and Nikhil Ratnaparkhi shot at Red Fort for their opening scenes in the upcoming show Krishan Kanhaiya. The show is based on the relationship between God and the common man — where the common man (played by Nikhil Ratnaparkhi) is a non-believer in God and thus asks a plethora of questions when lord Krishna (played by Siddharth Arora) appears in front of him.
So, what are the challenges faced by them while portraying their charactersIJ Arora says, “My role of lord Krishna is shown in a contemporary look — wearing shirt, trouser and a yellow coat. But most people associate God with the conventional look. So for me the challenge is to make sure the essence of Krishna is communicated to the audience even in the modern avatar. In order to prepare for my role, I have read books like Sri Krishna, as well as part of the Bhagavad Gita and interpreted them in my own way”. On the other hand, Nikhil says, “I come from a middle-class family so it was quite easy for me to get into the character of a common man”.
The exasperating heat of Delhi is not unknown to anyone. “We have shot mostly in and around Red Fort and once in a hotel terrace with the backdrop of Jama Masjid and Red Fort – so that meant being exposed to the heat directly. But we managed by consuming lots of water and applying sunscreen,” Arora says. A cooler was also seen in the shooting arena so it seems the actors are well protected!
The SAB TV show is set to go on air by end-June, replacing Peterson Hill.
