MISS lOVElY
Starring: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Niharika Singh, Anil George, Zeena Bhatia, Menaka lalwani
Rated: 0.5/10
Mr Nawazuddin Siddiqui can you really be this desperate for films that you will do a movie like Miss lovelyIJ Of course, the answer is yes since he is very much there and acting as if this is the first time that he is facing the camera which is rather odd since he went to the National School of Drama New Delhi and has give some great performance is movies like Bombay Talkies, Gangs of Wasseypur, Black Friday and Talaash: The Answer lies Within.
So, it boggles the mind as to why a man who has won a few awards would be seen in a movie which is set in 1989. Does director Ashim Ahluwalia not realise that this is 2014 and he is 25 years too late with the story on the criminal depths of Mumbai’s C-grade (porn) industryIJ And if the movie had to have an A certificate what was the need to blur it and if it had to be, then why shoot it in the first placeIJ The fact that the film moves from one shot to another with no rhyme or reason means that there is no connectivity.
Considering that the rest of the casts’ performance, or one should say non-performance, has no impact in the movies means that this Miss lovely is not so lovely after all. Avoid at all cost.
