It’s back to the family where gaming is concerned. SAB TV and DD National bring you exciting family-based gaming formats full of fun and frolic. There is something for everyone around you, says Sangeeta Yadav

Call it a recall of the reality based family gaming concept or adding another fun element in TV viewing experience, the launch of two family gaming show —Sab Khelo Sab Jeeto (SAB TV) and Family No 1: Rahein Saath, Khelein Saath (DD National), means the good old family days are back.

“Through SKSJ, we want to bring back the format that binds the family together. This fun filled game show aims at shed light on the basic aspects of a happy family that is love, affection, care, co-ordination, trust, bonding and togetherness. It’ll be a combination of easy viewing and reality gaming show,” Asit Kumar Modi, producer, SKSJ, says.

Based on the same concept and background, both shows include fun and easy-to-play games like bursting balloons without using hands and feet, breaking matkas blindfolded, finding coins from a cake with your hands tied etc. These interesting games will be played in four rounds of 90 seconds each. The winner will be awarded gifts like AC, fridge, washing machine etc. The winner of the grand finale will get a family car.

This is not the first time that a family-based game show is being aired. Zee TV’s Wheel Ghar Ghar Main and others also aimed at uniting family and engaging them in fun activities. “Our format is the USP. It is different from all other shows in its genre. It’s very important to have a family gaming show like SKSJ in a line-up which would remind you of your childhood. We used to play these fun games when we were children,” Cyrus Sahukar, host of SKSJ says, Sahukar has been busy working for his upcoming online talkshow programme On The Bench which is produced by Rhea Kapoor.

There is another game show on similar lines being telecast on DD National titled Family No.1: Rahein Saath, Khelein Saath. This game show will see 48 families participate over a span of six months. Every episode has two contestants (families) playing against each other. In SKSJ, there will be six families per episode, in which one winning team will get the title of Champion of family and go to the second round.  The second round will happen only after the show gets six champion families. Then these winners will compete with each other to give the show its final four who will contest for The Maha Champion family title.

“Family No.1: Rahein Saath, Khelein Saath consists of four rounds Ek Se Badhkar Ek, Do Do Haath, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Aakhri Daav. The first two rounds fetch the families four points each, third round fetches eight points each and the last round helps them win 16 points each. With every point earned, they kill a germ on their “Pepsodent Germ-o-meter”. We’ve two mascots on the Show. “Keeto” which symbolises the germs in our gums and the germs on the Germ-o-meter. Pepso who is the Hero and is the one who kills the germs symbolising Pepsodent. Every time a team earns points, “Pepso” enters from behind the “Germ-o-meter” and kills the germs, using his sword as a prop,” Mukesh Sharma, additional director general, marketing, Prasar Bharati, says.

“It is a show for all where the family can play together and win together,” Modi concludes.
