Based on a story titled The Railway Aunty by New York-based writer Mohan Sikka, BA Pass is about Mukesh, whose circumstances turn him into a gigolo for the bored aunties of Delhi who have nothing better to do but spend their time in kitty parties or have young men in their bed while the husbands are busy making money.
While, first-time director Ajay Bahl has chosen a subject that has been talked about behind closed doors in the Capital and may have even shown the rather explicit sex scenes without making one squirm and cringe, the movie has nothing to show when it comes to substance.
Did the director want to show the sexual exploits, or did he want to show what poverty turns a man into or did he want to show the moral degradation of the societyIJ Unfortunately, Bahl only manages to skim over these issues, diluting the impact of the movie that could have otherwise been a powerful film.
