What were Juhi Chawla and Anupam Kher were thinking when they signed up to do this movieIJ One is sure that both didn’t need to. To be honest, one didn’t understand why Kher, who has given brilliant performances in movies like Saraansh, Daddy and Khosla Ka Ghosla, should have been compelled to do Hum Hain Rahi Car Ke. His role, if that is what it was, is for precisely 10 seconds each, that too as a clipping that is run on a news channels or appears on the computer screen.
As for Chawla, director Jyotin Goel didn’t think of giving her much to say except chew paan and gesticulate wildly to make her point. Then there is Sanjay Dutt. This was his first movie released after he went to jail. While the audience may sympathise with his plight, it will be difficult for him to explain to his fans why he, too, needed to be a part of a film that was meant to go nowhere.
As for the lead pair, the less said the better. The duo tries very hard to bring in some freshness but the series of adventures or misadventures that are supposed to evoke laughter only lead to unmitigated irritatation in the audience who can no longer be lured with stupid comedies.
