It’s time for some real action as contestants engage in activities to prove they are entertainment ke badshah. Deebashree Mohanty speaks with some Delhiites who are going to set the stage on fire with their performance in EKlKBK
They are young, talented, bursting with energy and raring to go. Contestants from all over India are willing to go to any extreme to prove themselves in Entertainment Ke liye Kuch Bhi Karega (EKlKBK) on Sony starting today. Their only aim — to do everything and anything to entertain the audience.
But they aren’t all a bundle of nerves as they believe that could act as a deterrent in this competition. “Thoda thand rakh, is what my friends keep telling me. I was quite nervous during the auditions but now I’m very confident and enjoying what I’m doing. That is reflecting on my performance too,” Sumit Kumar from lakshmi Nagar in New Delhi says. Kumar is trying to woo his audience with opera singing, an art he has mastered over the Internet.
“It’s very difficult to make your voice vibrate to match that of a glass. The voice should resound all through the hall. But once you get the synchronised pitch right, your work is done. Opera singing doesn’t mean ‘khalee peele chillana,” 28-year-old Kumar says, laughingly. His only problem is that he can’t practise as much as he likes because this kind of singing means a lot of stress on the neck. “I wish my mother was alive to see me performing on this platform,” he says.
For Chetan Upadhyay who has been battling lower limbs disability since birth, it’s a dream come true that his classmates and friends get to perform on TV. “We used to love dancing in school and everyone was very supportive. The only challenge we faced was that we didn’t have a proper place to practice. But the principal of our Amar Jyoti School helped us out,” Upadhyay says. His group NavAsha will be dancing and performing stunts on the wheel chair.
There is another talent group that has scaled many levels in Entertainment Ke liye... without having a proper coaching class. “My group of boys can perform tasks on the skipping rope. This is my speciality and I’m hoping that we are well liked. Challenge — we’ve no place to do our activity apart from local parks,” Pankaj who teaches Bonfire the group, says.
Entertainment Ke liye Kuch Bhi Karega on Sony Entertainment from Monday-Friday at 9 pm.
