Kadvi Hawa

Casting: Sanjay Mishra, Ranvir Shorey, Tillotama Shome, Bhupesh Singh

Rated: 6/10

The problem with movies like Kadvi Hawa is that they are watched by a select few. Even though such films are released commercially, it will not last at the BO beyond a week. Given the present conditions in the Capital and the city gasping for a breath of fresh air, Kadvi Hawa should be seen by one and all. Not due to a stellar performance by the likes of Sanjay Mishra, who made us laugh with his quirky dialogue delivery in films like Dilwale (Oscar bhai), but because Bollywood seldom makes movies where the subject is the hero.

But then Nila Madhab Panda is on a mission to make better films considering that blockbusters will always be there. Kadvi Hawa is definitely not your average entertainer. In fact, it offers none and the director is unapologetic about it since the whole premise of this film is to tell the people what our actions is doing to Nature. The sight of a dry and barren land where people are trying to meet ends and others trying to escape the money lender is both arresting and dark.

Will this go down well with mostIJ No, even though we are the ones who are at the receiving end of Mother Nature’s wrath.

If you are the kind of person who feels that Bollywood doesn’t make meaningful cinema should go see this one.
