Seasoned actress Rajshree Thakur who plays Maharani Jaiwanta Bai Songara in Sony’s flagship prime time offering Maharana Pratap was said to be quitting the show but Thakur says she can’t be without the show.

“Since we shoot out of Mumbai and have a very hectic schedule, it took a toll on my health. I kept falling sick and losing weight. So, I decided to move on from the show and the timing was good too with the show’s focus shifting. However, after having a fruitful discussion with the production house Cantiloe Entertainment, I decided to give it another shot. They have managed to relax my schedule,” Thakur tells you.

Thakur has had a successful stint with Saat Phere but fans adore her as Pratap’s mother. According to a TV portal, more than 95 per cent viewers said they wouldn’t want anyone else stepping into her shoes. Although she has been around, Thakur believes Jayanta Bai has been her best so far.

“It has been such a wonderful journey. We are like one big family. I have always wanted to push my limits and do roles which are outside of my comfort zone and Maharani Jaiwanta Bai was the best opportunity. I am very attached to this show and this is one reasons I decided not to quit,” the 32-year-old actress says.

She is happy doing only one show as she wants to strike a balance between work and family. “With me being away on shoots for days, my family started feeling neglected. But now, hopefully, this will change for the better,” she says.

Although the current track is around Pratap’s friendships, Thakur says her time will return within a fortnight. “I am pining for my son. He has to return to me soon,” Thakur says.
