Poster Boys

Cast: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Shreyas Talpade, Samiksha Bhatnagar

Rated: 4/10

Sunny paji please understand, the era of shouting is over. There was a time when people loved your screams and it brought claps. Now all that we want to do is cover our ears when it happens. Another thing is that your dialogues still manage to bring a smile. But you seriously need to change your MO.

Now to Poster Boys. Strange that, while it says that it is inspired from true events, the disclaimer says that it is work of fiction. We are a tad confused. Is it work of fiction or inspired from true eventsIJ

But the problem here is not with the disclaimer. The issue is that if the film wanted to send out a message that men don’t lose their manliness if they get vasectomy, this one failed to do so miserably even though the makers did try to cover up the slip up throughout the film at the climax.

If the film wanted to promote girl child, the makers could have just stuck to that and made a film around it.

If the movie wanted to send a message that Indians need to control population, the makers should have stuck to it.

Dealing with three issues that plague our society in one movie dilutes the impact. If one wants to see how, Poster Boys is just the movie to see.

But like almost all Hindi movies, this one too starts on a good note and does manage to evoke laughter from the situations that our three leads — Sunny, Bobby and Shreyas Talpade find themselves in. Incidentally, Talpade makes his dictatorial debut with this film. It would have been better if he would have chosen a better project to debut with.
