Yet another dance show

Dance Plus, a dance reality show is all set to go on air from July 26 on Star Plus. One is told that the format is a mix of what one saw in India’s Dancing Superstar and Just Dance. The show has Remo D’Souza as the super judge. Joining him are Dharmesh Yelande, Sumeet Nagdev and Shakti Mohan who will be seen captaining their teams. They would also be selecting the next dance sensation from the best talent.

The show will be hosted by Raghav Juyal along with Rithvik Dhanjani. The ‘plus factor’ is to keep the focus on dance with emphasis on solo, duet and group performances choreographed by the three mentors of the teams.

Talking about the show, Dharmesh said that Dance Plus is the only show where contestants will have a choice to perform in group or solo. “The contestant will perform on his favourite style. Nobody will ask him to do other styles, a contestant is free to show what he is best at. The show is named so as apart from one’s dancing skills, one will need to have a ‘plus’ point to stand out,” he said.

Many dancers join dance reality shows with a dream of making it big. But their art is lost as they are asked to perform different styles. This leads to their elimination as they are not masters of each style. “But here, two dancers are chosen at the end of each episode by the mentors. But the final decision rests with Remo. This is what makes this show different. It has a mix of talent, entertainment and some great performances,” Sumeet tells you.
