Zero tolerance to poor man's ration fraud: DC Palamu

Published on:

It's zero tolerance for the DC Palamu Anjaneyulu Dodde in matters of bungling or irregularity in the public distribution system called in local lingo Ration.

Speaking to the media persons at his press conference called for special summary electoral revision 2023 Dodde said, "I appeal to all the ration dealers here in Palamu not to gulp down the ration of the poor as this will not be tolerated and such ration dealers will have to face the music."

He said he came to know of a ration dealer in Haidernagar through media that he was usurping ration in the name of a beneficiary dead 5 years ago.

Dodde said an inquiry was conducted and the ration dealer (Nagender Singh, his office identified)  was found guilty of bungling and hence his licence was suspended and a criminal case by way of the FIR has been lodged.

Some weeks ago one assistant godown manager cum Jan Sewak Hussainabad Arvind Kumar Singh was suspended and recovery of government money to the tune of 16 lakh of rupees from him was  ordered by the DC for siphoning off as many as 400 quintal food grains of the government. As many as 12,000 ration cards in possession of the affluent people have been neutralised, added DC.

Narrating one incident DC said "There came one Mukhiya under Paton block who claimed to have built 576 sheds for cattle there at one panchayat Hisra Barwadeeh which was nothing but a colossal piece of corruption. The Mukhiya is now facing the heat of law."

Heads of a few more government functionaries there are rolling down in this titanic case of corruption. The DC went on to say "If someone says he did not know the rules and erred even then it is not acceptable at all."

Dodde focussed on the special summary electoral revision urging people to get electoral related works like addition, deletion, shifting, change of address etc in this ongoing drive but it was food that overtook voting etc.

However, the DC handled both the briefings well in respect of the special summary electoral revision and irregularities in government ration for the poor by the dealers.
