In a bizarre incident a 21-year-old youth slit his wrist on Wednesday after he was scolded by his parents for being unemployed. A resident of Sonari, the youth, identified as Prakash Kumar has been admitted in a serious condition at the MGM Medical College and Hospital's intensive care unit. The doctors said that his condition is severe.
The parents rushed him to the medical college hospital's emergency after he attempted suicide at his residence. "There was some hot talk between the youth and his parents. Following this, Prakash slit his wrist to end his life. But as his parents saw him in a pool of blood they rushed him to hospital," said a relative.
The doctors on the emergency duty sensing his deteriorating condition shifted him to the intensive care unit. According to relative, Kumar who is Matric passed could not pursue further study as his father's financial condition was not good.
The youth used to work as an electrician. Assistant sub-inspector of police, Ramakant Ojha said he tried to record the statement of the injured but he was not in a condition to speak. "As per our probe the youth tried to commit suicide by slitting his wrist. We will register a case of attempted suicide against the youth," he said.
