A youth was shot dead by few unidentified criminals on the bank of Isari river under Rajganj police station in Dhanbad district on Monday morning. The youth was supporter of BJP’s Baghmara MlA Dhullu Mahato.
According to the police, Nimai Chandra Mahato (35) was shot dead by two unidentified criminals. The incident occurred when Nimai along with his wife Rahi Devi was on the way to their home after taking bath in the Isari river, police said.
“Two goons, who suddenly rushed to us in a motorcycle started firing on my husband. They pumped one bullet near his chest and two in his head,” said Rahi Devi.
Soon after the incident, Nimai rushed to the local hospital where doctors referred him to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH). later, senseless Nimai was rushed to BGH where doctors declared him brought dead.
MlA Dhullu Mahato along with his supporters also rushed to BGH. “We are investigating into matter,” said police.
