Vishnugarh police of Hazaribagh district has sent a youth to jail on the allegation of eve teasing. A school going minor girl has made a written complaint in the police station that the youth named Dilip Kumar Mahto is teasing her regularly since last more than one month. Her parents has raised this issue in local panchayat where Mahto has promised to not do such activity in future but when he repeated his activity again then with the consent of parents written petition was given by the girl in Vishnugarh police station.
According to the petition, the resident of Saraiya village of Vishnugarh block 26 year old married youth Dilip Kumar Mahto was teasing her since more than one month. On October 2, when she was going for the toilet in the field, he tried to misbehave and forcibly touched her body. At that time some youths of the village came there and rescued her from his grip.
She had also written that since last one month Mahto use to follow her during her visit to the school and while returning. Many times he stopped her cycle forcibly and misbehaved with her. When she informed her parents they lodged a complaint in local panchayat. In the panchayat meeting Mahto assured the members that he will not repeat his action in future but again on 2nd October repeated his activity.
The Vishnugarh police registered a case and arrested the culprit from the village on Tuesday evening and sent him to jail on Wednesday. The Rural DSP Dinesh Kumar Gupta said that after receiving the complaint the local police came into action and arrested the accused. We have instructed the local police station to increase patrolling at the opening and closing times of the schools to check such activities, he added.
