One youth was arrested for allegedly raping a woman at the Dhadhakia Modh under the Kasmar police station area, about 10 km from police headquarters Bokaro on Sunday. The arrested youth has been identified as Budhu Karmali.
The woman, a resident of Dhadhakia village of Bermo subdivision, in Bokaro districte was alone at home around 2 am when the accused entered her house. Finding her alone, the accused raped her and the fled from the spot.
The woman approached the Kasmar police on Monday evening claiming that a man who had entered in her room on Sunday night, sexually assaulted her. Base on her complaint, a registered a case under Section 376 of IPC against Budhu Karmali.
Confirming the incident officer-in-charge of Kasmar police station, Anand Tirkky said a probe was on. Meanwhile Budhu Karmali has been arrested on Tuesday in connection with the incident and was sent to Tenughat jail.
The residents of Dhadhakia area are agitating over the incident and have asked the police to ensure justice to the victim.
