Yashwant moves EC to defer polls in Hazaribagh

BJP leader and Hazaribagh MP Yashwant Sinha has demanded to defer the April 10 in Hazaribagh on the grounds that the Ramnavmi festival falls on the same day. In a request to the Election Commission, Sinha said that processions on the streets would make elections impossible.

“The situation will be tough for both administration and voters to conduct the election and to cast vote, so I have written a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner of India to change the date of poll from April 10 April 17 for Hazaribagh constituency,” said Sinha on Thursday evening.

In his letter he has written that Ramnavmi is an important festival of Jharkhand and is celebrated on a large scale in Hazaribagh for which every year the administration makes heavy arrangements to maintain law and order. This year Ramnavmi in on April 8 and in the night processions will be taken out. The processions will end only on April 10, argued Sinha. Earlier welcoming the JVM Budhjeevi Prakosth Central president Subodh Singh Shivgeet and his fellows in BJP Sinha said that the NaMo tsunami is on full swing here and it’s pace will increase after March 8, the day on which Narendra Modi talks directly with the party workers and voters on Chai ki Chaupal.

Talking about election Sinha said that now it has become more technical and the party’s candidates and workers should be aware of these technicalities otherwise the administration will get a chance to book them on the charges of violation of model code of conduct. Talking about claims and counter claims of different political parties he appealed to all the political party leaders and workers not to follow the path of protest of AAP.
