The 58th Academic Session of Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) commenced on Tuesday. As many as 330 students have taken admission in the five management streams comprising Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Human Resource, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing and Rural Management.

Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) Vice Chancellor (VC) Darlando T Khating who was the Chief Guest on this occasion encouraged the freshers to set up a goal and strive for it.

“In today’s scenario internet, friends and mobile will try to distract your mind wherein focusing on your goal is certainly a challenge, said the CUJ VC. Khating highlighted on the three basic approaches of life which everyone should inculcate in their lives. He also advised the students not to feel low in hard times. Most of the students including boys and girls present at this gathering felt that getting into XISS, the premiere B-school of eastern India helps in nurturing the all-round performance of an individual. Mary Tanuja Toppo from Bokaro enrolled in PGDM Finance said, “I did my graduation at Banaras Hindu University but preferred to crack the XAT (Xavier Aptitude test) so that I can pursue my higher studies at a reputed management institute in my native State. It is a great opportunity.”

“XISS is near my hometown Dhanbad and owes a good record in providing placement for the students,” said a student of PGD Marketing. Institute Director Father Alexius Toppo, General Body Chairman Father Xavier and Assistant Director Father Ranjit Pascal Toppo along with the faculties were present.
