Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) started this year’s World Environment Day Celebrations with Spot Painting and Essay Competition on Monday. The competition was organised at CCL Headquarters. The topic of the competition was the theme of this year’s World Environment Day is “Beat Air Pollution”. Similar programmes were held at all the areas across CCL.
Competition program witnessed active participation of children. Around 110 children enthusiastically participated in the competition. There were three groups i.e. Group A – from prep to Class II, Group B- from class- III to VI, Group C- from class- VII onward.
The prize-distribution ceremony will be held on Tuesday. It is to be noted that World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 to promote awareness and action for environmental issues faced by the global community. World Environment Day was celebrated way back in 1974. This year’s theme is “Beat Air Pollution”.
