Child Development Project Office Koderma organised a workshop on Tuesday at their office situated under the block premises. The aim of the workshop was to build understanding of Government's schemes among disabled and officers to support inclusion of people with disabilities in the development programmes of State as well as the Centre.
Sadhana Chaudhary, Child Development Project Officer focused on the schemes and programmes and said "Government runs various development programmes for the welfare of people with disability." The aim of the workshop is to sensitise the people and organisations working for disabled. CDPO also spoke of the need for information dissemination not just amongst disabled people but also amongst the communities working for the differently-abled people.
"The common stream of thought that ran through the Workshop was the need for information and building awareness, in order for the rights of disabled people to be realized in practice, and not just be stated on paper. This Workshop not only served as a platform to share information on the legal rights of disabled people, but it also served the purpose of a meeting ground for people with an interest in the disability sector to share their knowledge and experiences with each other." Said Prabhash Kumar Dutta addressing the workshop. The Workshop was very well attended by participants from the disability sector, representing different disabilities, as well as, NGOs.
