A worker died in an accident inside the Bokaro Steel Plant’s (BSl) water treatment unit.
Neeraj Bhagat (20), a contract worker of M/s Krishna Timber, was cutting a tree inside the Water Treatment Plant at BSl. Suddenly a big branch (cut) fell down on him and Neeraj died on the spot on Friday noon, said an eyewitness.
Demanding job to the neared keen of the deceased relatives and neighbors blocked the plant’s gate. After not getting the affirmative response from management irked mob blocked the BSl plant and its administrative building gateon Saturday morning. Mob ransacked on vehicle near the Water Treatment Plant’s gate, said another eyewitness.
Many leaders came in support of the deceased family but all goes in-vain. later police taken stiff action and blocked was lifted-up after 24 hours. “Body was sent for postmortem and we are investigating into matter which includes safety measures, work permission on height, clearance from Forest department and others”, said OC of local police station.
BSl’s Chief of Communication Sanjay Tewary could not be contacted for his comments.
