Expression of Interest will be issued soon for the construction of Gola-Ormanjhi Expressway from Bokaro. National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has completed its entire process and sent it to the Government of India. Soon the tender for its construction will be issued by the NHAI Headquarters in New Delhi. It will cost about Rs 1700 crores to build the road from Bokaro to Gola and from Gola to Ormanjhi.
Tender will be issued in separate packages for both the sections. NHAI Regional Officer, SK Mishra told that this project will be the first real expressway of the State, which will be around the present Ormanjhi-Sikidri-Gola, Bokaro road, but will be completely different. “Work is being done on this under the Greenfield Project. The entire process of land acquisition is also in the final stage,” he added.
Mishra further informed that NHAI has prepared an action plan to make this important expressway. Ormanjhi, about one km before the Pudang toll plaza in Ranchi, this road will be taken out towards Sikidri-Gola. This road will also connect with Sikidri Road, he added.
The Regional Officer said that at the same time, this road will be constructed from near Jainmore in Bokaro which will go towards Gola. Service lane will also be made in the road. Rest houses for the drivers of large cargo vehicles will also be built on this road, he added. “With the construction of the expressway, heavy vehicle drivers as well as those taking private vehicles will also get an option to walk on a better road.
At present, the burden of vehicles will also be reduced on Ormanjhi, Sikidri-Gola-Bokaro road. People will be able to travel on a good road by paying toll,” said Mishra..
