Work on construction of block office yet to start

Five years is long enough for any development programme either in construction or launching a Government scheme. However, despite being declared of its existence since 2009, Peshrar block is yet to see its basic infrastructure.

With five panchayats under its block, Peshrar block is 35 km from the district head office.

There was provision of BDO, head clerk, supervisor and peons and now the areas of the block have been cut off from Senha and Kisko.

The district administration had deputed panchayat workers out there but the works have been done in papers only. What’s more, the office of Pesrar block is run from Kisko block.

The area is also considered highly sensitive and is

surrounded by mountains and rivers.

There is scarcity of several basic facilities such as electricity, education, agriculture and health.

The tender for the construction of block office has been done but still the work hasn’t been started. Earlier, there was the problem of land clearance but now it has also been cleared.

BDO Praveen Kumar said, “All the work is done from the office of Kisko block. People have to face problems. Officers and employees also feel the lack of office and work place. After the construction of the office they would be relaxed. Although all the field employees and officers mark the visit and ensure the development works.”
