The State Government has made it clear that action against corrupt practices having taken place during previous regimes would be initiated without indulging into vindictive politics. It also promised that the State would come up with a domicile policy to resolve the issues of the natives. Replying to the ‘Thanks Giving Motion’ on the Governor’s address Parliamentary Affairs Minister CP Singh assured the Opposition, especially to JVM’s Pradeep Yadav, who had questioned the sincerity of the Government on corruption involved in sand and other issues.
“This Government would not be like the previous ones. The misrule having taken place under the present leader of Opposition’s (the then Chief Minister Hemant Soren) tenure of 14 months and the game played by you would be looked into. I know a Deputy Secretary used to run the Government of yours. The practice would not continue under this Government,” said Singh hitting out the charges made by the Opposition members about silence of the newly formed BJP Government on sand auctioning and domicile policy.
Pradeep Yadav and most of the Opposition members blamed the Government for leaving untouched the issues of scams concerning the sand auction, Sona Sobarn dhoti-saree-lungi scheme, farmer loan waiver, MSP on paddy, etc in the document read by Governor Syed Ahmed. The Minister stressed that law would take its own course in the ongoing probes without any prejudice. He also ripped apart the assumption made by JMM’s Stephen Marandi on a tribal Chief Minister.
“Neither this is a tradition nor a constitutional provision to decide, who would be the Chief Minister of a State. As far as changes in the CNT and SPT Acts are concerned may I ask, who has tried to tweak itIJ The previous JMM Government tried to remove the barrier kept for police station for purchasing land by a tribal. The Soren Government could not make domicile policy despite noises, but I can assure you that we will do this,” said CP Singh.
He also blamed the JMM for shedding crocodile’s tear on tribal issues, citing its choice of candidates so far as Rajya Sabha members from the party. Reaffirming the Government’s commitment towards good governance, the Minister said that bringing smile on the faces of the citizens would be its only goal. “We are not worried about obstructions coming in our ways as we have the zeal, vision and policy ready with us. People from all across the country have shown faith on the BJP and expectations have risen us. We know how to bring things on track and also to make Jharkhand a developed State,” added CP Singh.
