The officials of Ranchi postal department are planning to open a women special post office by the end of October. From manager to peon- every staff in this post office will be women. It will however, not turn away male customers.
The basic idea behind this plan is enhance women empowerment. Chief Postmaster General Abhay Sekhar Rai said, “In Dhanbad and Jamshedpur women special post offices are already started and is showing good result. In the wake of their response we have decided to open the same for state capital.”
According to sources the AG office post office will be converted into women special branch. “It is yet to decide the number of employees to be recruited in this office. This place is chosen as it will be safe for the women employees. Moreover, the working condition is also favorable for the employees,” an official said.
Word Postal week which is being celebrated all across the world. The week begins from October 9- 17. A press conference was organized by the postal department with the objective of linking common man with postal service.
