The BJP women’s wing has planned a cultural welcome for Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s first ever rally at Morhabadi ground on Saturday.
The ladies are eagerly waiting to draw the rangoli of party’s symbol ‘lotus’ in the ground, in case they get permission from the administration and their seniors. “As Modi is the Prime Minister, we cannot take decision over our plans. However, if we are allowed we would like to draw rangoli of our party symbol lotus in pink and green colours around the ground or in the middle of the ground,” BJP Jharkhand Mahila Morcha president Usha Pandey said.
Notably, the women are campaigning by singing song composed with Bhojpuri lyrics from door to door in the constituencies where the assembly polls are scheduled on December 2, 9, 14 and 20. “We are singing song ‘Jharkhand mei kamal phool khilalwa’ (lotus flower is blooming in Jharkhand) in a tone where a wife requests her husband to wake up and see that lotus is slowly blooming in the state,” added Usha Pandey.
Besides, pleasing Modi, Pandey is organizing mehendi making programmes among the ladies of the party in each of the constituencies. “Such initiatives are the best mode of showcasing unity and integration,” Pandey pointed out.
Sources in the party held a meeting late evening on Friday regarding finalizing the schedule of PM’s welcome. “Not only the women’s wing but other wings like minority and youths under BJP have prepared unique ways of impressing Modiji,” said a party worker on the condition of anonymity.
The party men have made specific sitting and parking arrangements in the ground and near Birsa Munda Football stadium, Ranchi College along with Archery ground. As far as the crowd in the historic rally is concerned, more than two lakh people across the state are expected to turn up here.
Pandey said around 50 percent of the crowd will be represented by women. The state wing of the national party is putting hard efforts to make the rally a historic one.
All the emergency facilities like ambulance, fire brigade vehicle and drinking water are expected to be provided by the party. Modi will be arriving Morhabadi Army ground in a helicopter. The rehearsal of the helicopter flying was held on Thursday.
