Taking a significant step in the direction of women empowerment and their financial inclusion, the Government has decided to waive stamp duty on the property bought in the name of female members.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das while reviewing the Revenue and land Reform Department on Wednesday said that only `1 would be required as token stamp for this purpose. "The CM said this keeping in mind the importance of women in family. This would surely grow their stature and empower them," said Revenue and land Reform Secretary KK Soan after the review meeting.

In another women-centric step, the Chief Minister as the next step after the women associated with Sakhi Mandals were given smartphones, has directed officials to ensure installation of Whatapps, Bhim and other apps related to e-governance for them. The apps would help the women to not only work in cashless manner but also keep them updated with latest schemes and programmes of the Government.

Coming to traditional land dwellers of the State, the CM directed officials to fund at the earliest the process of making available tablets to Manki and Munda. "He also said that executive meeting of Tana Bhagat Development Authority should be held at the earliest. Digitisation of land maps should be done fast and 86,257 maps received from Bihar should be digitised," the official pointed out.
