In the second leg of Palamu police’s ‘Aao Saath Chaley’ campaign at the Yodh Singh Namdhari Mahila college on Thursday, girls said more than the adults would have dared to tell police officials, which included SDPO Sandip K Gupta, inspectors of police Anand K Mishra and Priyanka Anand and a host of other officials on their faces so candidly.

One Shivani’s contention was, “Police do not act. They do not act in time. It lengthens the issue. Their response is wanting.”  The police officials tried to ‘dispel’ her grievances saying police do act but there comes situations where the victim girl goes hostile and then the action of the police does not get visible.

She said, “When we go for tuition in tops and pants all eyes pierce through us making us feel that we have worn something which is outlandish and this gives us a lot of discomfort.”

Gupta told her that there is a need to change the attitude of the beholders as dress matters but not to this extent when everyone should gaze at you.

Sanjana Tiwary when asked by Gupta as to what her response would be if she found herself alone at night around 11 and not many people on the street to which this girl stunned the team of police officials, journalists and a huge gathering of college students there by saying, “by passing every minute of travelling by auto with her locations to her parents.” Everyone there marveled at her cellular sense for safety.

Gupta who did most of the talking said, “Girls should avoid sharing every personal details of them on face book and what’s Ap messages as these may be exploited by sharp minded criminals to their own benefit.”

Supriya Dubey another student raised the issue of Hyderabad rape episode where the victim’s sister was refused lodging of her FIR by policemen there citing territorial jurisdiction to which inspector of police Anand K MIshra sitting in this programme rose to tell the girls, “The six policemen who did this are suspended now.”

Mishra further said, “Let me tell you if a police officer dilly-dallies in taking down your complaints then that police officer too faces action under section 166A of IPC.”

Jyoti Kumari demanded lady cops on scooty! She said it is embarrassing to tell male police officials as to how she is being ‘seen by bad incident’ to which a lady police officer there said “PCR van has lady cops too and hence there is no harm reaching PCR van for help.”
