A 26-year-old married women who was coming back to her house at Surhi village with co-villager on Wednesday evening was gang-raped allegedly by him and another man, who was waiting for her there.
The victim identified them as Vishwanath Mahato and Guddu Pandey. The incident happened in Ahardih village under Nawadih police station. According to police, the survivor was coming on Wednesday evening with him from Dumari. An FIR has been lodged and a hunt is on to search the two men.
Women police station-in Charge Shila Hembram said, “One accused has been identified as Vishwanath Mahato, a resident of Surhi village, and the second accused is Vishwanath’s friend, whose identity is Guddu Pandey. We are conducting raids to nab them as they are still at large.”
Following the complaint filed by victim, an FIR(8/20) was lodged under the IPC section 376 D (gangrape) against the duo. “We have sent the woman for a Chas Sadar hospital, Bokaro for medical examination,’’ she said.
According to the victim, after an altercation with her husband, she went out of her house on Wednesday afternoon and went to Baradih village in Dumri block of Giridih district, where she had stayed in a woman's body member house.
Due to the applicable lockdown regarding Corona, the local ward member came in the night and questioned her and after receiving full information, the ward member given such information to her co-villager and deputy body member Vishwanath Mahato.
As soon as the information was received, the Deputy Chief reached the spot at around eight o'clock at night on Wednesday and assured her to drop her house at Surhi village and he would be settled the entire dispute.
“She was coming back to her house with him on scooty. However, the man took a wrong route and took her to an isolated spot in Ahardih village area. While his colleague Giddu Panday was already present there. Where they took turns to rape her," a police officer said.
In the next morning, she informed about the incident to the village head Rauf Ansari and other villagers. She went to Mahila police station and she has made accused Vishwanath Mahto of raping her along with his colleague Guddu Panday.
