A 35-year-old woman along with her daughter were burnt to death after the woman poured some flammable substance on self and her 14-year-old daughter and set ablaze. Sources said that the woman named Chandravati Devi residing in Belhara Village in Garhwa police station of the district took the extreme step due to some family issues.
The 14-year-old girl died on the spot, while Chandravati was taken to the Sadar Hospital, Garhwa. Later at the hospital, Chandravati was declared dead.
After receiving the information the police team started the proceedings. Chandravati’s brother Jagnrayan Chaubey, said, “Her sister committed suicide by setting fire. He also set fire to the body of daughter Khushi Kumari, which led to her death. Chandravati Devi was the first wife of Arun Dubey. Police handed over the dead bodies to the deceased family after post mortem.
