Police sources said that love affair could be a reason for the murder.
The perpetrators, they said, may have tried to drown the body in the dam but left it close to the embankment and fled.
Hatia Deputy Superintendent of Police, Prabhat Ranjan said that morning walkers found the body and informed the police about it at around 5.30am. The police have circulated picture of the girl at police stations around the area and asked the concerned cops to check if the diseased woman was missing from home.
