After being declared winner in Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) elections, the president elect Ranjeet Garodia, seeking active participation from all the members, has requested them also to make suggestions. Talking about his priorities, he said that he will be working towards controlling petroleum prices and rationalisation of taxes on petroleum products on the lines of the adjoining States.
“This is a victory for all the members and I would request them to help the Chamber and also to get help from it by participating actively in its activities and not to gather during crisis. I will move forward with the 20 point agenda declared by us before the elections by making separate teams for each of them,” said Garodia.
Petroleum prices had been rising day by day and there was also a big difference in the taxes charged by the Jharkhand Government on petroleum products than what was being charged in the adjoining states, which must be rationalised, he added.
Focus will also be made on improving law and order situation and creating a feasible environment for expansion of Industries in the State by infrastructure development though long term planning, he added.
“We would also like to make single window system more effective in the State to attract more and business here,” said the president elect. Efforts will be made to bring Chamber to new heights, he added.
Another winner of the poll Poonam Anand said that she would put her 100 per cent to the responsibility given to her. “I will try my best to participate actively to bring Chamber to new heights and was ready to take on the responsibilities given to me with all my vigour,” said she.
Incidentally, Garodia has registered victory in the new working committee elections held on Sunday bagging a maximum of 1722 votes against 1488 votes of Mukul Taneja. Pankaj Poddar, of team Gorodia, however, remained on the second position by securing 1667 votes.
Team Goradia bagged 14 seats of the 21 member working committee, while team Taneja could secure only 7 seats. Results were declared late night on Monday. A total of 2,381 members cast their votes out of 3,002 members while 86 votes were declared invalid during the counting.
Accepting his defeat Mukul Taneja said that he will continue to work in the interest of the State with team spirit.
