A ‘WhatsApp’ message circulated in a group brought handful of youths out in protest. The incident led a communal tension when people from a particular community of Siramtoli area barged at Kanke Police Station on Sunday.
A Sub-Inspector of local Police Station Sukhram Oraon said that persons over a dozen in numbers approached the PS to lodge an FIR in the afternoon against one Mukesh Kumar from Siramtoli area, who is alleged to have circulated a ‘WhatsApp’ message containing abusive languages and false claims against a particular community.
Oraon said that FIR has been registered against Mukesh Kumar and Police have started search to nab him, who remains on the run so far. However SSP Kuldip Dwivedi denied any possibility of communal tension and said that police were keeping close eye on the area after matter came into light. Origin of the message is yet to be verified along with how many hands it had already travelled to before the FIR was lodged.
