Two welfare department run hostels one for ST girls near Palamu Club and the other SC boys hostel ( Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Chhatrawas) on Bypass Road Redma would soon be managed by nearest educational institutions of the government said Palamu district welfare officer (DWO) Subhash Kumar.
The DWO said “ A policy decision has been taken in the meeting held on these two hostels last week of September. Welfare department run hostels which are not situated on the campus of school/ college are to be tagged to the nearest school/ college for its better and effective management.”
Sources said “ In principle it has been agreed upon that SC boys hostel bypass road Redma would now be ‘sanchalit’ ( managed ) by the GLA college while efforts are on to tag ST girls hostel near Palamu Club to be under the management of either of KG girls high school or YSNM college in Daltonganj.”
The DWO said all such inmates of these hostels who are no longer students of school/college but keep occupying hostels’ rooms will be shown the door. These hostels will see new faces as their superintendents.
He said “ A few days back Chhaterpur MLA Radha Krishan Kishore telephoned me and told me about the SC boys hostel Redma. Here the inmates have given a petition against the superintendent Ajay Ram to him. The inmates have leveled serious allegations against the superintendent.”
The DWO said as per our findings there are two groups of inmates in the SC boys hostel Redma and as such the atmosphere in this SC hostel is of disquiet and discontent. He further said inmates have asked for removal of the superintendent.
