Water woes afflict everyone, the print and electronic mediapersons had their first taste of water crisis when in the maiden Press briefing of DC Palamu Amit Kumar and SP Palamu Patel Mayur K lal. As the temperature was right at 43 degrees Celsius, the briefing started as late as 12.40 in the afternoon and continued for 45 minutes and there was no arrangement of drinking water. Many journalists were heard saying Palamu administration is going for elegant economy of water here.

Meanwhile in Hussainabad's Chouwwa chattan about 97 kms off Daltonganj, two Rajwar groups clashed over water from a Government tube well there.

The Rajwars hurt the head of the two people leaving other three injured, all for water.

Sources said taking water from tube well is an arduous task. At places in Daltonganj locals have put an embargo on anyone taking bath right at the tube well.

Hussainabad police officer in charge Beyas Ram confirmed the fight between the two groups of Rajwar over water and said one Rajwar had sustained serious head injuries who was made to bleed for water. One other Rajwar was also hit in head for water.

Police officer Ram told The Pioneer, “Complaints have reached us but under order of the SP Palamu Patel Mayur K lal the police are talking to both the groups of Rajwar to settle this dispute brawl over water as if any of the two sides pursue the complaint legally then there will be a whole lot of problem for both the sides”. Ram said that both the sides of Rajwar are poor and belong to the dalit community.
