Volunteer Groups working in Jharkhand have called for an empowered Government in the State. The opinion was expressed during a meeting organised by Vikas Bharti at the State capital on Saturday regarding the upcoming general elections.

Members of the group felt their organizations play a vital role in the coming days for making schemes on development. A team among the volunteer groups stressed on establishing NGO cell within the state. The members discussed on the transparency that should be maintained by an MlA with the help of funds allotted to him.

A Development Agenda was prepared by the participating groups on the occasion. The agenda includes involvement of panchayat sub-committees in the Panchayat Raj law of the state, social security, livelihood of farmers and small scale industrialists, environment, sports, youth affairs, state budget and women empowerment issues.

Notably, the social security covers pension for widows, disabled, teenagers and plans for victims of trafficking and witch crafting. For health and human resources development, the members want a boost up to the single window structure for health and human resources development of the state.
