Under the Samagra Shiksha Program, an initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy, the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) is constantly trying to connect children to schools in the age group of 3- 18 years who are either out of school or have dropped out. In order to fulfill this objective, along with JEPC support is also being received from voluntary organisations.

To bring back out of school and dropout children back to school and to connect them to the mainstream, a panel of voluntary organisations on non- financial basis is being prepared. The organisations that will be selected will be taken for cooperation in various activities such as street plays, continuous monitoring of compliance of Project Impact, transition of children, data work on Government of India's management portal and registration on NIOS portal.

Interested voluntary organisations can register themselves on the application link provided by JEPC. On the said basis, they will be directed to organise various activities to connect out of school and dropout children to school in different districts and blocks of the State. The State Education Project Director will hold a meeting with interested voluntary organizations on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 3 pm at JEPC. In this meeting, representatives of voluntary organizations will prepare a strategy of various activities to be done for out of school children with JEPC Director Aditya Ranjan.

As a part of this programme special training centers will also be set up in the State for out of school children. The cooperation of voluntary organizations will be taken on non-financial basis in the operation of these centers. TLM and other necessary materials will be arranged for teaching and learning in these centers. The centers will be run by specially trained resource persons (volunteers). It will be the responsibility of the social welfare organisations to arrange trained volunteers for these centers.

Voluntary cooperation will also be taken from willing social welfare organisations in all the 26 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Schools running in the State. Orphans and children with single parents get education in these schools. Voluntary cooperation will be taken from the organisations in these schools to provide special skills to the children like self-defense training and career counseling along with socio and phycho counseling on various issues.
