Tourism, Art and Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Department Minister Amar Kumar Bauri said on Monday that the proposed 33-feet high statue of Swami Vivekananda in Bada Talab under its beautification plan would be installed by September this year.
In addition to that, works on installation of a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Audrey House other than a state-of-the-art auditorium and a coffee house in the same premises are also on.
The Minister, who also holds one of the important departments, land Revenue, Registration and land Reforms, added while counting proposed plans under all his departments that the government was committed to overall development of sports and art and culture in the State, and plans under these would start reflecting results soon.
Bauri said that the government in association with Central Coalfields limited (CCl) was preparing athletes and players for Olympic-2024, apart from providing financial assistance to all players and coaches in need through Sportsperson Welfare Fund under which a sum of around Rs 1.23 crores have been allotted for 2015-16, 16-17 and 17-18 including monetary assistance to dependents of players/coaches losing lives.
“The government has planned to establish a couple of Centres of Excellence for various sports by 2019. These centres for Archery and Hockey are expected to be completed in 2017-18, while Centre of Excellence for Badminton and Football have been planned for 2018-19,” said Bauri where Tourism, Art and Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs department Secretary Rahul Sharma, land Revenue, Registration and land Reforms Department Secretary KK Soan, Youth Affairs Department Director Ranendra Kumar and other officials were also present.
Replying to a question, Soan said that lagging behind in land revenue collection was mainly due to government providing lands for various projects free of cost. “Moreover, welfare of the State and its citizens remains our main goal instead of collecting revenues. However, the department is trying its best to remove hurdles in the way of collection away,” added son.
Bauri said that 20 new circles had been formed in the State for public convenience and strengthening land revenue collection processes. He said that corruption and forgery in land purchases and registrations have drastically fallen after PAN and Aadhaar details were made mandatory in the process.
“The government is working speedily on overall development of tourism circuits in State. Palamu fort, Rajmahal fort, Ichak temples, Itkhori Museum, Navratna fort, Tanginath temple, Saraikela…all of them are to be developed and preserved,” added Bauri. He added that www.jharkhandtourism.gov.in was ready to be visited where all tourism related information were available for tourists willing to visit any part of State.
The Minister said that formation of Tana Bhagat Development Authority for taking care of Tana Bhagats in State and Baba Baidyanath Dham Basukinath Pilgrimage Region Development Authority for managing and operating Deoghar-Dumka Shravani Mela was also on the cards, and were to be implemented soon.
“We have constructed tents for Kanvarias coming to Deoghar in Sawan. The tents, normal to AC are available at a cost of up to Rs 3,000 per tent. This trend of tents for accommodation of tourists in different seasons has worked wonders in various parts of the world and if successful here in Deoghar, it will be replicated in other parts of the State too,” added Bauri.
