ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group Company and a leading greenfield integrated steel producer in India, continues to work tirelessly for the benefit and welfare of the society and community in its operational areas.
A felicitation ceremony was organized to honor 35 students who successfully completed their Solar PV Installers Trade training at Vedanta ESL Skill School. These students, all from ESL Steel Limited CSR’s operational villages in Chandankiyari and Chas blocks, were felicitated by Philmoon Bilung, DDM, NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), and Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Deputy Head, CSR - ESL Steel Limited.
All 35 students not only completed their course but also secured placements with Hyderabad-based Premier Energies, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, with an average CTC of Rs 2,00,000 per annum.
In appreciation, NABARD presented each student with a Solar Kit comprising various instruments, tools, and gadgets to aid them in their profession. Speaking at the occasion, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Deputy Head, CSR ESL Steel Limited, stated, “It is a core belief at all Vedanta organizations that investing in the skill development of young talent from our operational villages is not just a commitment; it's a strategic imperative. Through Vedanta ESL Skill Development Project, we are not only shaping brighter futures but also building a stronger, more empowered community for sustained growth and progress."
This batch of 35 candidates was sponsored by NABARD and underwent intensive six-week training in Solar PV Installers Trade at Vedanta ESL Skill School. The Skill School operates as part of CSR’s Societal Improvement interventionist program, in partnership with SEEDS, an interventionist partner agency.
Reflecting on the success of the Vedanta ESL Skill School, over 521 students have been trained, with 100% receiving placement offers. Of these, 377 accepted the placements, while the rest chose self-employment or pursued higher education, underscoring the school's commitment to empowering the community and fostering sustained growth.
