Modimania could not stop the new Vice-Chancellor of Vinoba Bhave University, whose taking over charge coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing in ceremony on Monday, to speak about the new PM.
“It is just a coincidence that I have taken charge of the office of Vice Chancellor VBU on the day when Narendra Modi is going to be sworn in as the new Prime Minister of our country. Believe me, I have not planned for it but one thing I can say to you that I am also an admirer of Narendra Modi,” said Professor Sardar Gurdeep Singh, who took over as the new Vice Chancellor of Vinoba Bhave University on Monday noon.
After taking charge from acting Vice Chancellor cum Divisional Commissioner of North Chotanagpur Surendra Singh Meena the new Vice Chancellor urged people to give some time to him to get acquainted with the working pattern of this university, issues and problems and merits-demerits so that he can be in a position to answer the questions.
Earlier the new Vice Chancellor Professor Singh was given warm welcomed by the officers and staffs of the university. The officers and staffs also thanked outgoing Vice Chancellor SS Meena for his continuous support and inspiration to work more efficiently. After the formality of handing over and taking of charge both Singh and Meena sat together along with the university officers and staffs for a cup of tea during which the new VC got the introduction of officers and staffs.
